For injured workers & motorists
Injured at work or on the road? What matters now is getting back to work.
You didn't plan for this, and the paperwork tends to arrive faster than the answers. The first thing to know is that under the NSW workers compensation scheme, you can choose your own workplace rehabilitation provider, and you don't have to take whoever you're handed. Nexus coordinates your return to work, liaises with your nominated treating doctor, and keeps the plan moving so you're not the one chasing it.
You can choose your own provider
Under NSW workers compensation, the choice of workplace rehabilitation provider is yours, not your employer's or the insurer's to decide. If a provider was already put in place and you'd rather move, you can. That includes choosing Nexus, and it includes choosing anyone else. Tell your case manager who you want to work with; the scheme gives you the right to nominate.
We coordinate, your doctor treats
Nexus is not your treating team. We don't diagnose, treat, or prescribe. What we do is coordinate your return to work: we read your certificate of capacity, talk with your nominated treating doctor, and work out suitable duties with your employer so you can recover at work rather than wait on the sidelines. You keep one point of contact instead of chasing four.
What this costs you
For approved services under the scheme, nothing. The insurer pays, not you or your employer. Every service is pre-approved before it's delivered, so there's no surprise bill at the end. If something you need falls outside what the scheme covers, we'll tell you plainly before it happens, not after.
Injured on the road, not at work
A motor accident claim runs differently — funding comes through the CTP insurer instead of workers compensation, and who approves each step changes with it. The coordination job stays the same. We help you get back to work and everyday activity, liaise with your treating doctor, and keep the return-to-work plan on track. The scheme you're in changes who pays and who signs off, not whether someone is keeping your plan moving.
