Nexus Rehab delivers workplace rehabilitation and injury management under the main NSW injury schemes. Whether you were hurt at work or on the road, your rehabilitation is funded by the insurer, not by you. This page explains which schemes we work under, who pays, and how a referral works. We service all of NSW, metropolitan and regional.
Workers compensation (NSW)
For people injured at work in NSW. The scheme is regulated by SIRA, and Nexus Rehab is a SIRA-approved workplace rehabilitation provider. We deliver workplace assessments, functional capacity evaluations, return-to-work plans and recover-at-work support. The workers compensation insurer funds approved services, at no cost to the injured worker.
CTP and motor accident claims
For people injured in a motor vehicle accident. Rehabilitation is funded through the CTP insurer under the motor accident scheme. We provide injury management, functional and vocational assessment, and return-to-work or return-to-life support. Your insurer or case manager can refer you. Approved services are funded by the insurer, at no cost to you.
icare schemes — Lifetime Care & Support
For people with severe injuries from a workplace or motor accident. icare schemes, including Lifetime Care & Support, fund treatment, rehabilitation and care needs over the long term. We deliver case management, assessments and community-based rehabilitation, coordinated with the scheme. Approved services are funded by the scheme. Referrals outside these schemes are welcome, so contact us to discuss.
Who pays for rehabilitation?
Across these schemes, the insurer funds approved rehabilitation services, not the injured person. That means no out-of-pocket cost to the worker or motorist. We confirm funding and approval with the insurer before any service begins. Every service is approved by the scheme before it is delivered, so there are no surprise invoices. If a referral falls outside these schemes, contact us and we will talk through the options.
How to refer
A referral can come from an insurer, case manager, employer, treating doctor, family member, or the injured person directly. Once we receive it, we acknowledge the referral, contact the injured person, and explain the process in plain language. We then seek approval from the insurer before any service starts. Under the NSW workers compensation scheme, you have the right to nominate your own workplace rehabilitation provider. You can name Nexus Rehab at any point in your claim. For a CTP or motor accident claim, or an icare scheme, ask your insurer or case manager to refer you to Nexus Rehab.
