Workplace rehabilitation provider
A SIRA-approved organisation that coordinates return-to-work services between the worker, employer, insurer and healthcare team.

Definition
A workplace rehabilitation provider is an organisation approved by SIRA to deliver return-to-work services under the NSW workers compensation scheme. Its role is coordination: assessing the workplace, identifying suitable duties, developing and monitoring return-to-work plans, and keeping the worker, employer, insurer and healthcare team working to the same plan. Approval requires meeting SIRA's framework and standards. A workplace rehabilitation provider supports recovery at work and vocational outcomes; it does not provide medical treatment, which stays with the worker's treating practitioners.
In practice
When a claim needs return-to-work help, the insurer or employer refers to a workplace rehabilitation provider. Nexus is a SIRA-approved workplace rehabilitation provider, and its work is strictly coordination: workplace assessment, suitable-duties planning, and liaison with the worker's treating doctor. It arranges and coordinates rehabilitation; it does not deliver clinical care.
